On Her Own

She’ll be having another field trip organized by her school this September.

She said, “Papa, I’ll be going alone.”

I said, “Can you bring along your Mama, or your Ate (Yaya)?”

“No, Papa. I already paid the trip for one only.”

I knew this will happen one month ago. But all I can do is to worry. I cannot even scold her to let her Mama come along with her.

Well, I guess she’s starting to act on her own. I just signify my worries to her… I think she understands that by giving assurance that she’ll know what to do during the trip to Pampanga.

She even told me that she’ll have herself ready whenever she feels road sick.

But I’m still worried.

I spent my weekend with Ella in Nueva Ecija.
We surprised her early Saturday morning.
Everybody's telling that she usually wake up late in the morning.

It's really nice seeing her enjoying her summer vacation.

I usually made the call every weekend when I was in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Being Stubborn

I don't really know what the right word to describe her attitude at times.
She sometimes shows slight stubborness whenever she likes one thing.
Well, I guess it's just her being a kid and I understand her for that.
It's not that I spoiled her, but at most it's very rare that happens.
I just can't withstand her crying most often.

Starting Swimming Lessons

Ella is enjoying now here summer vacation.
She intends to learn swimming this time, so I tell her to teach me when she learns.
She likes to play in the water so much, so hopefully she'll enjoy her summer vacation in Nueva Ecija.

Being Away with my Daughter

At times, I come to think if I’m being a good father to my only daughter.
As much as I wanted to spend more time with her and guide her, most often than not I am away.
I was away for two years working in Saudi Arabia, and during those times it's really hard to perform my responsibility to her.

Hi Ella,
I stopped from work, having my break time now. I just feel like writing this to you hopefully you’ll be able to understand this when you grow up.

I just hope for a better future for you. Just hold on to your Mama, I know she will not forsake you. I really missed you so much here even though you’re stubborn at times. I know that’s just part of your struggle growing up too fast.

That’s it for now and so long I’ll be seeing you December 2008 for my vacation and as I promised I will be with you until New Year.

Happy Birthday baby! You are starting to be a grown up now that your 7 years old. You are a kid now. I am happy for you had grown that smart.
